8. Write about an experience

Last yar, things weren't going too well for me. My best friend moved to Barcelona and also I had a big argument with my cousin. Now we don't want to see each other. Friends invited me out, but I didn't want to see them. I spend a lot of time training.

Everything changed for me the day that I saw a programme on TV about optimism and the good way to be well. I became much positive and enthusiastic. My friends made me realize that I should be a bit more optimist and cheerful. In the programme, I found out that people only see the bad face of the coin, and this is the only thing that they don't have to do, because if you really want to feel well, you have to be more optimistic and see the good face in every little thing. 

These days, I feel much happier cause I feel more sociable and useful. If I hadn't seen the programme, I would never have this perfect life. 

7. An opinion essay

The government plans to introduce school on Saturday mornings to improve the level of education. In my view, this would have some negative consequences.
In the first place, I believe that school is very important and necessary for young people. They spend five day of the week going to school, and I think that this is so much, so if this law is introduced, I've no doubt that a lot of children will be more tired and stressed. I also think that this cause that young people wouldn't have free time.
If the aim of the government is to lower the hours of school, it seems to me that there's a better alternative: If they spent more time on looking for good teachers, school would be better and children would learn more.

Recently in 2003 the company of converse sold to Nike and in 2008 they sold pairs for 950 millions of dollars.

4. write about plans for a visit

Hi Mery, 

I’m just writing to check that everything’s Ok for your visit.

I think you’ll like Banyoles. On Saturday morning, we’re going to do a walk around the lake, maybe my parents will come with us, because they really love have a walk and see the nature. We’ll be very busy in the afternoon because we’ll go to Girona to watch a film. Probably, some of my friends will come with us. I expect we’ll end up in a bar eating a hamburguer or something like that.

On Sunday, we could get a bus and go to Cadaqués. I go there on summer holidays. It’s a lovely place. We can go by the boat to a little beach. I’ll show you some photos of there. 
We’re going to meet you at the airport next week.

2. ask for advice about a relationship

Hi Mery,

We've been on holiday in England for a week now and I've just met this guy, George. He's absolutely gorgeous and hilarious, but I'm not sure how I feel about him. I'm writing to you because I need your advice. I met him in the hotel yesterday. We stayed in the disco and he started to ask something about me while he invited me to a drink in the bar. Both of us were having a real laugh and we spent an unforgettable time. It was fantastic! After that we went to the billar, and when we were there, he basically ignored me and started flirting with an English girl. But when I said goodbye, he walked to the taxi stop with me and neither of us could stop talking. I've been thinking about things a lot since then. I 'll probably see him later, but I'm not sure what to do if he asks me out. He seems very different when he's with friends. What do you reckon? I need a lot of help. I don't know what to do.

The nineties was a decade which people remember for many reasons. There were good times and happy events as music, sports, new technologies, ... There were also difficult times, for instance theYougoslavian war.

In the world of music, there were a lot of new artists in the charts, for example, Shakira, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Spice Girls, and others.In the cinemas, Toy Story was a big hit. It was the first animation film which was filmed for a PC. 

Sony's PlayStation game, becomes the top selling game console. And in this decade, the internet was discovered.

In the world of the sports, there was a very important thing that we must remember, the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.It was one of the best decades for F.C.Barcelona, with 6 leagues, and one Champions league. People used to call "Dream Team" to players who play for Barça in this season.In the end of the decade, the world was a different place. 

The new technologies advanced a lot, and there was a new innovation, the cion of Euro.

And the most important thing that happened in this decade was in 1997, the year that we were born.
